Benefits of Jummah prayer:

 

  • Unity: We all have one purpose, one language, and the same efforts. We all bow down together. We all Muslims prostrate together. It guides us to agree at all times. 
  • Friendship: Muslims should confront each other during the prayer. They know the difficulty and worries of each other and make an effort to benefit each other. Mutual or associated love develops. 
  • Rewards: If one Muslim follows the leader the reward of the Jummah prayer is 150 times analyzed which is completed separately. 4 people after a while, the prize is 2,400 times. If it overtakes 10 people, no one knows the reward except Allah. 

Jummah Prayer Rakats:

Salat al Jummah is an important prayer for Muslims that should be performed in the assembly every Friday afternoon. The details of Jummah prayer Rakats are given below:

  • Fard Rakat: After attending to the advice during the Friday prayer, two Rakats are mandatory behind the Masjid Imam. These are the obligatory Rakat of Friday prayers that must be completed in assembly.

Abu Hurairah (RA) shared:
The Mediator of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“The five every day (prayers), and from one Salat al Jummah prayer to (the after) Jummah prayer, are forgiveness (of the sins decided in among), so high as major sins break out.”
(Sahih Muslim, Book 2, Hadith 448)

Advantage of Performing Ghusl on Friday:

Salman Al-Farisi (RA) shared:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“One who achieves Ghusl on Friday, clean himself as much as he can, then usage perfume, and then return for the prayer and not independent two sitting together, dua as much as (if requested) for him, and attentively listen while the Masjid Imam speaks, all his crime between that Friday and the next Friday will be forgiven.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 13, Hadith 8)

Importance of Salat al Jummah in Islam

Friday is a very important day in Islam. This day provides a special chance for worship and congregation. In the Holy Quran, the Friday Prayer is specified in Surah Al Jummah. When Allah Almighty mentioned to the believers that the Friday call to Prayer is given, they should leave worldly connection and run towards the prayer. This day is full of blessings and is calculated as the best day of the week.

The Arabic dua’s that are commonly recited on Friday for forgiveness and blessings are given below:

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي، وَتَقَبَّلْ تَوْبَتِي، وَارْحَمْنِي، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ.

 

Translation: O Allah, Forgive my sins, Accept my Toba or compassion on me. Indeed, you accept Toba, You are so Merciful.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ يُحِبُّكَ وَيُحِبُّ نَبِيَّكَ، وَأَنْعِمْ عَلَيَّ بِالرَّحْمَةِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ.

Translation: O Allah Almighty, add me to those peoples who love you and your Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace upon him) and grant me blessings on dunya and the day of Judgment.

Role of Surah Al Kahf on Blessings Day

Surah Kahf is the 18th Surah of Quran Pak. It consists of 110 verses. This is a Makki Surah where Allah Almighty describes different or various stories, advice, and the differences between truth and false.

Surah Kahf gives lessons of patience, faith, and belief in the power of Allah Almighty. Its recitation is not only the source for the Judgment. It is the source of guidance and success in this worldly life.

Therefore, we make a habit of reciting every Friday after or before the Jummah Prayer so that Allah’s pleasure and his blessings become our destiny. They also describe:

  • Protecting the Faith: In Surah Al-Kahf, the story of the companions of the Al Kahf is described, which teaches us the protection of our faith and dependence on Allah. This incident teaches us that we should believe or trust Allah even in difficult situations. They will hear us in every situation.
  • Protection from Dajjal’s Fitna: Our Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace upon him) said: “Whoever remembers the first ten verses of Surah Kahf, he will be safe from the Fitna of Dajjal.” This shows that this surah is very necessary for the protection of faith.
  • Light or Blessing: It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Al-Khudri that the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad(peace upon him) said: “Whoever who recites Surah Kahf on Friday, there will be a light for him that will bright until the next blessing day.”
  • Lessons from Difficulties and Trails: Three main difficulties are mentioned in Surah Al Kahf:

  •  Test of wealth (person with two gardens)
  •  Test of Power (Zulqarnain story)

Why recitation on Friday? The recitation of Surah Al Kahf on Friday is especially described as this day has special importance and significance for Muslims. There is a blessing and virtue in the Jumu’ah Prayer, and the recitation of Surah Kahf:

  • Cause Forgive of sins.

Jummah Khutbah Guidelines

The Guiding Principles of Friday Khutbah are described below:

  • Intention: The intention of the Khatib should be purely for the pleasure of Allah Almighty. The Moulana aims to influence the hearts of the Muslims with his words and not for their personal fame rather it’s for Allah Almighty.
  • Preparation of Jummah Khutbah: A Khatib should prepare well before giving a Khutbah. Choose the topic in the light of the Quran and Sunnah and keep in mind the condition of the Muslims.
  • Beginning of Khutbah: Begin the Khutbah with praise and praise of Allah Almighty and Darood Pak. Then introduce the topic of Khutbah.
  • Short and concise Khutbah: The khutbah should be short, effective, and concise. Generally, the Khutbah should be windup within 15 to 20 minutes to keep the Muslims interested. 
  • Reference of Quran and Hadith: The Reference of Quran and Hadith firstly mentions the verses of the Holy Quran and authentic Hadiths in the Khutbah. Explain in a simple and understanding way for the Muslims.
  • Arrangement of Prayers: At the end of Khutbah, pray for the welfare of the Muslims.
  • Punctuality of Time: Complete the Khutbah before the appointed time of the Jumma Prayer so that the Salat al Jummah can be offered on time.

 

Friday Prayer Sunnah Acts

The Friday Prayer Sunnah Acts are mentioned below:

  • Ghusl on Friday for purification.
  • Brush (Miswak) to clean the teeth. It is Sunnah.
  • Applying Perfume Sunnah to use for good fragrance.

  • Appeal and Istighfar especially on Friday.
